I try to get involved with art projects that support mental health and trying to get rid of the stigma attached to it. About 2011 I was diagnosed with Bipolar, ok you can run for the hills call me crazy or whatever. But I think at times it helps me, I see the world differently and through art, especially when it comes to this project, I tend to show my more darker views, which is not something I regularly show in the real world. Thanks to a rough childhood/adolescence I managed to hide any negative feeling, and it’s something I try and do now.
2014 update- extra part to this project, the art work I did when I was in a mental hospital for 17 days- https://nightmarecat.wordpress.com/current-projects/mental-health/mental-health-hospital-series/
2017 update- The image above and my experience with Bipolar disorder and Borderline personality disorder, has been featured on The Guardian Website.
